Ring in 2015

Hi there...

Today I have a photo of my 2015 Desk CD calendars. I first posted the mock up in this post for a Creative Blog hop I participated in.  I had a lot of fun making these. I made them in My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up!  I love MDS but I don't get a lot of time with it as I'd like so, it was fun to do some digital creativity!  You can try a free 30 day download here. If you would like to join in on the hop I'd be glad to nominate you. You would need to post on Dec 15 and nominate someone else. Just send me an email!

Now onto the calendar...

These are great for your desk and I like how all of the months fit in the cd case.  The CD case opens up and acts like an easel to hold each month. When one month is done, I move it to the back to reveal the next month.

I wanted to do something different then the standard 2015 Calendar for the cover. When I found this quote in My Digital Studio, I thought it was perfect and something different!

For something different I decided to put the months in numbers.

I added fun sayings/quotes to each month.

I've made different designs of these calendars in years past. I give a set to family and friends at Christmas time.  They love them!  If you would like to order these as gifts or one for yourself contact me!

MDS Collage

Here is a collage gift I gave to my friends for their baby, Landon's, child dedication.  He is so cute and so sweet and was such a darling at his dedication. He didn't eve fuss when our pastor held him.

I love MDS and dare I say I haven't even upgraded yet!  I have a few projects that I need to finish and I'm afraid if I update I won't finish them, I'll just play and play and play!

So, I'm hoping to get the so very long ago started projects finished so then I can upgrade to MDS2!

I'd love to hear what you think of MDS2!  There are so many great new features. You can check it all out at www.mydigitalstudio.net. It's filled with fabulous ideas and it's not just for demonstrators, it's open to Stampin' Up! customers too!  There are fabulous videos that will get you up and running in no time.  So check it out!  If you're not sure yet, then try out the FREE 30 day trial. It's the full software with limited content but enough for you to get your feet wet!  You can download it here for FREE!

Also Stampin' Up! extended the digital promotion thru September 14. I think they knew I needed a little longer to complete those projects! You can check out all the digital content and print products that are on sale for 31% off here.
Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you!

Paper Flowers

Thanks for stopping by today!  I have another project to share with you from the Stampin' Up! convention. My girlfriends and I signed up for Carrie Cudney's "I Am A Pattern Mixing Pro" class.  Here is the project we made. So much fun!  Click on the photo to see it larger.

It starts out as a blank canvas, I think its 8x10, we added the First Edition DSP and some acrylic paint. Then comes the flowers.

They are very easy to make. Punch out 4 DSP scallop circles. Fold them in quarters then adhere to a punched out circle for your base.  Adhere to your canvas.  I was suppose to stamp the two flowers using the First Edition DSP but I didn't.  I liked it as is.

The tulip looking flowers were also punched out with the Scallop circle and folded in a tube like shape, glue and then attach to your canvas. We used the Multipurpose Liquid glue.

Add your buttons to embellish. So cute!

My Digital Studio Collage

Recently I was at Stampin' Up! demonstrator meeting and I presented projects using My Digital Studio.  Here is one of the projects I presented.

This year my husband and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. I love how quickly this came together. I added some brads from the SAB mini, pearls and rhinestones to add some dimension. Another way to add dimension is by using the shadow tool.

I hope you like the project!

Thing One & Two and Sesame Street Scrapbook Layouts

Today I have not one but two traditional scrapbook pages to show you.  These are very special pages for me because I made them for my sweet twin great nieces Elena and Estelle, AKA E&E!

They just turned two and their party theme was Sesame Street.  So I thought it would be fun to do a scrapbook layout for them.  That meant that I would need to do a 1st birthday layout too!  I made the Sesame Street characters with different Stampin' Up! punches.  I got the ideas from several other demonstrators on Stampin' Connection.  My niece, Candi, just needs to add the photos!

Here are my sweet twin nieces!

Estelle is Elmo and Elena is Cookie Monster. My niece bought these dresses on Etsy.

I made them each an Elmo card too!

For this layout I was inspired by the invite my niece sent out.  The punch art was inspired by Ellen Kemper

It was a lot of fun to make these but working with the little pieces gave me a pain in my neck and shoulders. If I didn't procrastinate, I could have spread out working on these pages.  Here's a tip when working with little pieces, put a little dab of glue on the back of the piece you want to attach and pick up with a tooth pic to put in place.

I wonder what next year theme will be!

12 Months of Dates

I saw an idea on Pinterest which led me to this blog for a Valentines Day gift for my hubby.  So here is what I came up with to house ideas for our 12 Months of Dates.

I sealed an envelope and cut about a 1/4" off the side and then punched1/2 a circle. They are stamped with the Elizabeth A La Carte stamp. I hand wrote the months on each. I used Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Markers and Designer Series Paper. The pull out is where I wrote what we will do for each date. There are some sites for dating ideas too! My husband liked the idea and I'm excited that we already have our February date on the calendar.

Here is the Valentines Day card I made. I did case this card but can't remember where I got it from. I need to be better at that!
I hope you enjoy some love today!

Black Hawks Note Book

My friend, Annie, loves the Black Hawks.  So when her birthday was coming up, I wanted to make a special gift for her.  Patrick Sharp is her favorite player.  So I wanted to tie him in some how with this gift.  She is always making notebooks for people, so I thought I'd make her one!  Here is my notebook transformed into a Patrick Sharp jersey.  I printed a Black Hawks logo and cut it out.  Thanks to my upline Dawn for lending me her dies for the name and number.

A Little Something

Here are a few year end gifts I made for my daughter's teachers.  They are clear boxes decorated with DSP and hand stamped with "A Little Something For You"  this stamp is from a previous SAB set.  I filled the boxes with chocolate.  I then made gift card holders using the scallop envelope die through the Big Shot.  I gave them each a box of chocolate with a Panera gift card.

Rock On!

I belong to a Bunco group of 12 ladies. Each month we get together and have a ton of fun playing Bunco. We each have a month to host. February was my month and I had my theme already picked out back in November!  Actually my daughter, Sera, came up with it.  Both my daughters and I love American Idol and started watching it in season 8, so were a little behind, LOL!

So you guess it, American Idol was our theme.  I covered 5 x 7 note pads to give to each guest, personalized with their name. Bunco was a blast as always.  When someone got a Bunco they were to stand a sing a few lines of a song.  I think the ladies all enjoyed themselves.

Have a great day!

Simply Adorned

I play Bunco with a group of awesome friends each month.  In December we have a grab bag, so I wanted to make something special.  I decorated a Simply Adorned necklace.  Louise was the recipient of this gift. I know it's not a great photo, I was rushing so it's the best I got.  Louise is a stamper too. You can check out her Kard Krazy blog here.

I love this home decor gift idea!  I saw some on Stampin' Connection.  This is a 8 x 10 canvas that I decorated it with stencils, stamps, ink, dsp and card stock.  I used modge podge to adhere the dsp and card stock.  This was a fun project to do.  I gave one to my upline, Dawn and my downlines: Karen and Julie, I still need to see my downline Debbie to give her her gift.  What a fun, creative, unique way to display a favorite photo!

Pretty and Practicle

Last week I attended our demo group holiday party. We participated in a gift exchange. This is the gift I made.  To create this fabric board, I took a canvas board, added batting and our beautiful Deck the Halls fabric. I added some retired Chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon so you can tuck photos, reminders, mementos, etc. I then cut fabric with my Big Shot using the circles die. Adhered them with our large brads and there you have it.  Not complicated at all, especially when you have the correct staples for your staple gun and a staple gun that works correctly, but I won't go there, LOL!

Erica is now the owner of this board, I hope she enjoys it!

You can still order this fabric or the Candy Cane Christmas fabric from the Holiday mini thru January 3!

Tea for Three

Here is another project we did at my "A Little Somethin" stamp camp. I saw this somewhere on blog land but can't remember where.  There were no instructions given so I made them up to fit my needs.  This is a simple gift idea sure to please your tea lovers!

A Little Somethin'

Well, it's been a looooong time since I blogged. My stampin' buds; Dawn, Dee and Catherine are probably falling off their chair right now, :).  I'll be seeing them tonight along with a few other stampin friends!

I've been busy with stamping and life in general.  I hope to get back on track to some sort of blog posting, whatever that may mean for me, LOL!

Here is one of the projects we did at my stamp camp, "A Little Somethin" in October. We created gift items to use alone or as an additional Little Somethin' to give with a gift card or other gift.  There are 3, 3x3 cards with envelops created using the Greenhouse Gala DSP, Friends Never Fade stamp set and the box was made putting together two Scallop Envelopes cut using the Big Shot.

Have a great day!  Hopefully you'll see another post tomorrow, wouldn't that be a miracle.

Gift of Cards

Here is a gift I made for one of my BFF's, Faith!  She gives out cards a lot and she asked me like a year ago to make her some cards and well, shame on me, I didn't. So I knew these cards would be well received.  I put the cards along with the envelopes in this pocket card holder. I used some retired Sweet Pea DSP I had on hand, I so love that DSP and miss it!  I got this idea for the holder and card layouts from Dawn Olchefske.  There is way to many items to list so if you have any questions, feel free to contact me!  Don't you just love the owl, he's one of our new punches!
